Hi, I’m Bryan and this is Maxine. With over 7 million followers on social media, you might already know her as “the dog in the backpack,” or @madmax_fluffyroad.

My wife and I got Maxine in 2015 and life hasn’t been the same since. I started documenting our adventures on Instagram while living in NYC as a filmmaker, and suddenly, Maxine became an internet sensation. When the MTA required dogs to be in carriers in order to ride the subway, I couldn’t find one that I liked, so I decided to make my own. 

That’s how Little Chonk was born. We’ve been hailed as the best dog backpack by Wired, Good Housekeeping, and The Dodo, but Little Chonk is more than a company or a product —it’s our way of giving back to our pets who make life better. There’s so many more exciting things ahead, and we couldn’t do it without our amazing Little Chonk community.
